Everybody thought that Pamela Anderson came to Brazil just to Enjoy Carnival, but it turns out they couldn’t have been more wrong. The actress came here to accompany her boyfriend, Jonathan Rose, who is a surfer and owner of the NGO Waves for Water and had bigger concerns. The couple, by the way, only left this weekend, after spending almost a month here.

* “The last two times I was in Brazil, I realized the country had a lot of needs and, after the flooding disasters in Rio de Janeiro, thanks to Waves for Water, I had the opportunity to come back and make a difference,” said Jonathan, exclusively to Glamurama.

* “The NGO’s idea is to distribute drinking water to everybody who needs it, providing filters and reusing rainwater. We’ve developed this process that treats 100% of the water, no matter how dirty it may be,” explained Jon, who is a partner of Movimento Cyan here in Brazil and got AmBev sponsorship, from the project “Água Pura, Serra Viva,” which began in the end of January, after Teresópolis’ tragedies.

* Waves for Water, FYI, began right after the Sumatra earthquake in September 2009. Believe it or not, Jonathan was at sea during the tragedy, and when he got back to shore he saw that the entire city was devastated and drinkable water was the basic need of most of the population. That’s when he decided to really dedicate 100% of his time to Waves for Water. Very cool.
