It’s not only Alexander McQueen’s exhibit, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the talk of savvy people in New York. The documentary about Bill Cunningham, the legendary photographer of the style section of "The New York Times," is another must in the city. Glamurama watched it and was very touched. His look on the fashion and especially on people is really unique, special, sensitive.
* His life since the beginning of his career, the testimonies of celebrities like Anna Wintour and Tom Wolfe, his friends, his routine, his bike, with which it circulates around the city even at age 80 or so… It’s a great movie to watch and keep close to heart.
* As for the McQueen exhibit, beware: the lines are huge! The success is matched only by the Van Gogh show, held at the museum years ago. It’s madness! It is best to go on days when the Met is open until nine at night – Fridays and Saturdays – and get there by six o’clock. And have a little patience. The lines walk relatively fast. The way the show was mounted, the soundtrack, which changes every room, it all just brings out the incredible work of the designer. A lesson in fashion, daring and creation. A true tribute.
