Glamurama talked to Eduardo Machado, a friend of gallery owner Monica Filgueiras, who died about two weeks ago. Although shaken by the loss – they were inseparable friends for over 30 years – Eduardo decided to proceed with the work of the gallery that bears Monica’s name. Along with Sandra Guimarães, he promises to fulfill the schedule that was already set until mid-2012, which begins with the exhibition of photographer Hugo Curti, on January 13. "She was an amazing person, very reserved. She was friends with Tarsila do Amaral, Flavio de Carvalho and many others. It’s going to be difficult, but we’ll carry on."

* On Saturday, Eduardo and Sandra turn an old wish of Monica into reality, an exhibition with the Gallery’s collection of paper, which incorporates the early career of the gallery owner. Including drawings, prints, paintings and photographs, with the works by artists such as Mario Cravo Neto, Hércules Barsotti, Florian Raiss, Leon Ferrari and many others.

* Eduardo brought us even more good news: The Free Art Fest will have a sixth edition in 2012!
