In the midst of the debt crisis in the United States, Anna Wintour, editor of "Vogue" America, and film producer Harvey Weinstein are organizing a fundraising dinner for President Barack Obama – which will bring the most powerful people in the world of fashion, film and finance to Weinstein’s house in the West Village in New York.
* The entries, which cost US$ 71,000 per couple, are already sold out and raised $ 2 million. Among the confirmed guests are Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin, Lyor Cohen, Tory Burch, Alicia Keys and Quentin Tarantino. Madonna was also invited but won’t attend due to personal commitments.
* Some of the money will go to the Obama Victory Fund, and the rest to the Democratic National Committee. An Obama aide said he will attend a "fundraising event" in New York, without specifying which.
