Yes, Carioca Omar Salomão is the son of Bahian poet Waly Salomão, but he’s much more than that. Also a poet, lyricist, writer, singer and now an artist, 28-year-old lad launches on Thursday at Mercedes Viegas Gallery, in Rio, the exhibition “Turbulências são apenas nuvens no caminho” ("Turbulence are just clouds on the way").
* The initiative, in fact, is part of a project that will culminate in a poetry + art book. In the exhibition, nine works blend photos and poems written with eyeliner and smudged with the artist’s hand. "It’s as if the handwriting kept the art hot, smoldering, pulsating," he sums up. Curious? The exhibition runs until the end of October, at Gávea.
