On Sunday, Juliana Mota Pinheiro opened her home in Joa, in Rio, to a party thrown by Moët & Chandon for some guests to watch together the documentary "Waste Land" and root for it at the Oscars afterwards.
* Glamurama took the opportunity to talk to Martu’s Marta Macedo, who signed the dress that Jackie de Botton, producer of the film, wore in the ceremony. "The piece was made with materials collected in Gramacho and it was a collaborative effort. The girls from the community came to my shop to help out. The biggest challenge was to make a very luxurious and cool dress that didn’t look like it came from trash and that would be a surprise when this idea was revealed. "
* "The idea of adding value to something that is wasted by society was so successful that in April we launched a collection of unique pieces with the tag of the Association of Collectors. Denise, the wife of Tiao [featured in the documentary] is going to coordinate a collection work directed to our products and all proceeds of these clothes will go to them."
* In time. Pity was hearing Oprah Winfrey announce that we lost to “Inside Job,” narrated by Matt Damon. Of course all the energy got sucked out of the party and everyone went home. Do you want to see everything that happened there? Click here!
