Tired of making short movies to advertize the new collections from Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld decided to go back to his roots. The Kaiser spent the weekend in Ravenna, Italy, photographing mosaics of fifth and sixth centuries. All photos registered by him will be in a book to be released during Chanel`s fashion show, on December 7th in Paris.
* The inspiration for the Paris-Byzantine theme for the new collection of the maison, comes from the preference that Coco Chanel had in the Byzantine style jewelry, one of the trademarks of a designer.
